SAZELI JALAL was born and raised in Singapore. He graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts with a major in Interior Design. He subsequently discovered his passion in photography and embarked on his artistic journey. Besides being self taught in photography, Sazeli's keen interests in art and architecture played a key role in pushing his boundaries in other areas such as installation art and collaborations with film directors. He participated in the making of several short films including one that was made as part of the MDA Panasonic Digital Film Fiesta 2006. In early 2007, Sazeli's first solo exhibition entitled "foreign bodies" was held in Alliance Francaise, Sapporo Japan. 

In 2010, Sazeli was awarded by IPA ( INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS / LUCIE AWARDS ) in New York and he won the 2nd place in Advertising- Beauty category and was also awarded an Honorable Mentioned in Advertising - Fashion category. 

In 2011, Sazeli's was again awarded by IPA awards and awarded an Honorable Mentioned in Advertising - Fashion category. His works were chosen and featured in ONE EYELAND BOOK vol 1. This book also featured the best of the best photographers from all over the world.  

Sazeli's works have also been featured in various places such as Noovo magazine (Spain), Alt-Neuöttinger Anzeiger Newspaper (Germany), Nikon focus magazine (Singapore) and Grain photo Asia Culture magazine (Singapore). 

Sazeli appeared in various TV programme such as an interview by Suria, Mediacorp under a television series "Gen.Y.Org", one that featured Sazeli as one of the young talents under 30 in Singapore. Similarly, Suria, Mediacorp television series "B3" has made a biography interview about Sazeli and his works.

Sazeli has since photographed for various major publications including Cosmopolitan, Solitaire, Men's folio, Women's Weekly and Cleo. He has also shot campaigns for ESP Guitars (Japan), FashionLab (Singapore), Jill Lowe International (Singapore), Francisca SS09 (Singapore), Elohim SS09, AW09, SS10, AW10, SS11, SS12  (Singapore) and Joss  SS09 (New Zealand).
